The video is being shared with the claim that the incident took place in Jaipur in response to Muslims offering namaz. Vishvas News fact-checked the video in detail and found the viral claim to be false. The video is from Lahore in Pakistan and is of ‘chehlum’, observed for Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi’s after his death, January 3, 2021. This is now being virally shared with the false claim that it is from Jaipur. Claim: Facebook user ‘Durgesh Chauhan’ posted the video on February 17, writing, “Responding to Namaz in Jaipur, devotees of Ram gathered in the middle of the road in unprecedented numbers and recited Hanuman Chalisa, making the country’s Hindutva proud. Thanks a lot for it…..Jai Shri Ram.” Assuming the post to be true, other users are also making it viral. Its archived version can be viewed here. Investigation: This video has already gone viral on social media several times on different occasions with different claims. One such claim was verified by Vishvas News. At that time it was proved in our investigation that this video is from Lahore, Pakistan and it is from TLP chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi’s chehlum after his death on January 3, 2021. The video was uploaded on YouTube channel ‘Labbaik News’ on January 4, 2021. Lahore was mentioned as the location in the video. At that time, we had contacted Mohammad Kamran, reporter of Pakistani news channel News 24 HD about this. He confirmed, “The video is from 2021 and is from Pakistan.” You can read our earlier fact check story here. The viral video and similar videos can be seen on many other YouTube channels. We contacted Narendra Sharma, senior correspondent of Dainik Jagran, Jaipur, to verify the viral claim. We shared the link of the viral video with them. They verified that the video is not from Jaipur. At the end of our investigation, we scanned the profile of Facebook user ‘Durgesh Chauhan’ who shared the video with the misleading claim. On scanning the user’s Facebook page, it was found that the user is a resident of Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand. The user has more than 3,000 followers on Facebook. Conclusion: Vishvas News found that the viral video, being claimed as Hanuman Chalisa recital in Jaipur, was from Pakistan. This viral video dates back to January 2021, when a crowd gathered on the occasion of Khadim Hussain Rizvi’s chehlum in Lahore. The audio of Hanuman Chalisa has been added separately in the viral video. - Claim Review : Huge crowd recites Hanuman Chalisa in Jaipur - Claimed By : Fb user: Durgesh Chauhan - Fact Check : Misleading Know the truth!
