Vishvas News (New Delhi): Famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Mansa district recently, since then, various claims have been made about him on various platforms of social media. Now, a video of 2 minutes 47 seconds of Moose Wala is being shared with the claim that this is his last interview. In the video, Moose Wala can be seen sitting with a female anchor and he is telling about his struggle. Vishvas News in its investigation found that this claim is false. In March 2021, Moose Wala gave this interview to Sonam Bajwa. Which people are now sharing with the false claim.
Claim:
Facebook user Paiyam News (archive) shared this video and wrote, “last interview of Sidhu Mooshwala.”
Investigation:
To know the truth of the viral video, we started searching on youtube with several keywords. We found the original video on the official YouTube channel of Zee Punjabi. It was uploaded on 28 June 2021. According to the caption, this video is an episode of the TV interview series Dil Diyan Gallan. In the original video, the portion of the viral video can be seen between the timestamps of 1.55 and 7.34 minutes.
During our investigation, we also found this video of Moose Wala on Zee5’s website. This video was uploaded on 6th March 2021. The show’s anchor Sonam Bajwa took this interview of Moose Wala.
After this, we started searching through several keywords on Google about Sidhu Moose Wala’S interview. Vishvas News found two recent interviews that took place just days before his assassination. He gave an interview on YouTube channel On Air on May 26. Amar Ujala also took his telephonic interview, the report of which was published on 30 May 2022.
For more information, we contacted Gurtej Sidhu, District Incharge, Bathinda, Punjabi Jagran. They told us the viral claim is misleading. This video is old.
This picture was shared by a Facebook user Paiyam News with the wrong claim. According to the profile, 221 people follow this page and it is active on Facebook since 17 Jan 2022.
