| - Fact Check: Salman DID NOT groove as background dancer to Ambanis at NMACC launch - viral video is old
While sharing a video of Salman Khan as a background dancer for Anant Ambani, many claimed that it is from the NMACC launch event.

This video is from December 2018 and was captured during the pre-wedding ceremony of Isha Ambani, the daughter of Mukesh and Nita Ambani.
On March 31, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) was inaugurated in Mumbai. This widely-publicised event was attended by Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities. Among the many photos and videos allegedly from the event, one that’s going viral right now shows Salman Khan as a background dancer.
Those sharing the clip claimed that during a performance where the Ambani siblings danced on a stage, Salman Khan was a background dancer.
"Video of Salman Khan performing as a background dancer during Anant Ambani's performance on SRK's song claimed at the inauguration of NMACC goes Viral; Netizens say 'Power of Money," wrote a Twitter user while sharing this video.
Another such tweet read, "Salman Khan Dances as Background Dancer At NMACC's Launch Event." The archived version of such a post can be seen here.
India Today's investigation, however, found that the video is several years old and not related to the recent NMACC launch event at all.
AFWA PROBE
Upon reverse-searching keyframes from the viral video, we came across the extended version of the same clip.
Uploaded to a verified channel named Boldsky on December 10, 2018, the caption mentioned that the video was from Isha Ambani's wedding when Salman Khan turned background dancer for Anant Ambani.
Per an India Today report from December 9, 2018, Mukesh and Nita Ambani's daughter Isha tied the knot with Anand Pariman on December 12, and pre-wedding festivities were held in Udaipur on December 8 and 9, where guests from the movie industry took part.
A Hindustan Times report from December 10, 2018, mentioned that the three Khans of Bollywood - Shah Rukh, Aamir, and Salman - were part of that extravaganza.
Paparazzo Viral Bhayani shared this video on December 9, 2018, on his verified Instagram account as well, making it clear that the video was not from the NMACC launch event.
We also searched to confirm if Salman Khan participated in any similar performance during the inauguration of the NMACC but found none. An India Today report from April 2, 2023, captured the moment when Salman entered the NMACC event. The video can be seen below.
