  • FACT CHECK: Did A News Publication Report On A Man Being Arrested After Cutting Off 37 Man Buns? A photo shared on Facebook allegedly shows a headline about an individual being criminally charged after cutting off 37 man buns in one day. Verdict: False This claim is fabricated. It stems from an article from Daily News Reported, which self-identifies as a satirical website. Fact Check: An 18-year-old was arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Temple University officer in Philadelphia Feb. 18, according to CBS News. The suspect, Miles Pfeffer, is facing numerous charges, including murder, carjacking and other weapons-related crimes, the outlet reported. A Facebook image allegedly shows a news article reporting that a man who was caught for stealing 37 man buns said he was “doing the Lord’s work.” The post shares a mugshot of a white man in a white tank top. “Criminal Caught After Cutting Off 37 Man Buns In One Day, Claims ‘He Was Doing The Lord’s Work,'” the alleged headline reads. This claim is fabricated, however. Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to match the claim. The article stems from the website, Daily News Reported, in which the tagline reads, “Not quite daily. Not quite news.” The site’s About Us page states that it is a “fabricated satirical newspaper and comedy website.” The mugshot used in the Facebook post is actually of 37-year-old Jesse Web, a man who was arrested for sneaking onstage at a Britney Spears concert in Las Vegas in 2017, according to USA Today. The incident caused a brief pause in the concert, the outlet reported. This is not the first time a claim from a satirical website has been interpreted as true. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis was recently denied access to Guantanamo Bay during a trip, which originated as satire.
