| - A post is doing the rounds on the internet claiming that the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi hosted a wedding ceremony for the first time in history.
Who shared it?: Along with social media users, media outlets such as Deccan Herald, CNBC TV18, Mirror Now, and Moneycontrol shared reports with a similar claim.

(More archives of similar claims can be found here, here, and here.)
What are the facts?: There is evidence available to show that this was not the first wedding hosted at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Moreover, the fact-checking wing of Press Information Bureau (PIB) debunked the claim on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
What led us to the truth?: Team WebQoof went through the digital photo library of the Rashtrapati Bhavan and searched the term "wedding" on it under the 'caption' section.
This directed us to several photo albums that showed wedding ceremonies being hosted at the President's Estate.
This included pictures of former Presidents Ram Nath Kovind and Pranab Mukherjee attending different wedding events.
PIB debunks the viral claim: PIB's fact-checking wing took to X to term the claims made in the recent news reports as "false".
Its caption said, "President's Estate has been the venue of several weddings since its inception."
The post was shared on 12 February.
Conclusion: It is evident that the claim of the Rashtrapati Bhavan hosting its first-ever wedding ceremony recently is false.
