Fact :NDTV did not publish such a Poll of Polls survey. The viral image in circulation is a fake one.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi has been in power in Telangana since 2014. As the state is all set to go for elections in a couple of days, the political parties are putting up a spirited fight to form the government. The parties are contesting for a total of 119 state Assembly seats.
Amidst this, an image looking like an Exit Poll survey done by NDTV is in circulation on social media showing the numbers to imply that Congress is going to gain momentum in the elections over the BRS. The image shows exit poll surveys published by several organisations NDTV Poll of Polls, ABP C Voter Poll, The South First, etc. showing the number of seats each party is going to get in the Telangana Assembly elections 2023.
This image is in circulation with the caption “Breaking: NDTV Poll of Polls tips the scales in favor of Congress in Telangana! Fact Check :
The claim is False. NDTV did not publish any such exit poll.
When searched for NDTV Poll of Polls on their website, we did not find any such exit poll published by them.
When we searched the social media posts published by NDTV, we found a post stating that NDTV has not carried any Poll of Polls for #Telangana2023. Please don’t spread fake news.
A few Twitter users also shared a post with the caption: “Congress Spokesperson: According to NDTV Poll of Polls, Congress is set to record historic win! NDTV: Sorry, We have not conducted any poll of polls. Please don't spread fake news”
Latestly.com also published an article stating that A fake ‘Poll of Polls’ by NDTV for Telangana Elections 2023 has been going viral on microblogging site X (Twitter), with Congress leaders sharing it virally. The poll predicts a massive win for Congress showing poor performance by alternate parties, including BJP and BRS. However, the news organization NDTV issued a clarification that the image is a fake one.
Therefore, NDTV did not release any exit poll results by the name Poll of Polls for the upcoming Telangana assembly elections 2023. The image is fake.
