Upon investigation, Vishvas News found that the video of Ravish Kumar endorsing a betting app is a deep fake, created to spread propaganda against Ravish Kumar. A similar deep fake video of Sachin Tendulkar promoting a gaming app also went viral some time ago. What’s Going Viral? Many users have sent this video to Vishvas News’ tipline number +91 9599299372 and requested to find its truth. Social media user ‘Aviator Play’ has shared this video in which Ravish Kumar can be seen promoting the betting app. Investigation: The viral video lasts only a few seconds, featuring Ravish Kumar endorsing the betting app Aviator App 1Win. In the clip, a truck driver claims to have won approximately Rs 800 million through the app. While the video mentions Ravish Kumar’s official YouTube channel, our search yielded no such video on his channel. A post from August 2023 on Ravish Kumar’s Facebook page addressed a similar incident, where he warned followers about fraudulent use of his image in gaming apps. He wrote, “This is another fraud using my photo. Many viewers and readers have sent links and screenshots of gaming apps using my face to solicit money. Please beware. Do not give money to anyone claiming to be me.” Vishvas News reached out to Ravish Kumar regarding the viral video, and he confirmed, “This is a deep fake video.” Recently, a deep fake video featuring Sachin Tendulkar also went viral. According to information available on the security.virginia.edu website, a deep fake is an artificial image or video created using special machine-learning techniques. These videos are produced by manipulating the original footage with algorithms, often inserting the faces of celebrities to lend authenticity.
