Did President Donald Trump sign an executive order banning HOAs (Homeowner Associations) in the United States? No, that's not true: The TikTok video making the claim offered no evidence it was real and it appeared to have been posted as a joke on an account that publishes with the hashtag #funnytiktok. Currently the website of the White House has no references to any presidential order relating to HOAs.
The claim appeared in a video (archived here) posed on TikTok on February 19, 2025, with the hashtags "#massfollowing #teamwork #constructionlife #funnyconstructionvideo #fyp #funnytiktok". The speaker in the video opened:
Breaking news from your friendly construction worker's newsstand. President Trump has done us a big favor. He signed an executive order to ban HOAs. Can you believe that no more homeowners association? This is going to be the best thing to help the United States.
This is what the post looked like on TikTok at the time of writing:

The video host acknowledged at the end of the video that it was a joke:
This is another funny moment from your friendly construction worker bringing you a laugh on your Wednesday hump day, you all have a good day, and I'll See you again soon. Bye.
A search of the White House website's presidential actions page (archived here) and a search for the term "HOA" on the entire White House site (archived here) did not find any reference to a presidential order relating to HOAs.

Even if President Trump wanted to ban HOAs, a presidential executive order would not likely do it. Individual states regulate homeowners associations, not the federal government.
