Verdict: Misleading The video was a demonstration against the far-right in Germany. Fact Check: The U.S. Government has confirmed claims made by the Houthis that they did launch a missile attack on a British-owned cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden off the coast of Yemen, The Washington Post reported. One of the two missiles used struck the ship and forced the crew to abandon it. A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, allegedly shows hundreds of thousands of protesters taking to the streets in Hamburg to show support for the people of Gaza. The caption reads, “Incredible turnout at the March for #FreePalestine in Hamburg #Germany.Fuxk the leaders, the whole world & certainly Germany don’t want to see the #GazaHolocaust.” The claim is inaccurate. While there are some pro-Palestine signs visible in the video, the protest was related to immigration. DW reported on the protests at the time that the demonstration was against the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. NDR also covered the rally as a protest against the deportation policy of the AfD party. (RELATED: Video Claims To Show Chinese Communist Party Destroying Mosque) The AfD has received backlash after reports indicated the party’s desire to deport foreign- or foreign-born people, France 24 reported. AfD has denied any plan to deport “unassimilated” people with passports, according to Reuters. This is not the first time misinformation has been shared online.
