| - As Delhi goes to vote on 5 February, an opinion poll with news outlet, Dilli Tak's, (sister channel of Aaj Tak) logo is being shared on social media.
The graphic is about the Okhla constituency in Delhi.
It shows: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) candidate, Shifa Ur Rehman in the lead with 50.15%, followed by 30.76% to Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Manish Chowdhary, 12.65% to Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) and incumbent Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Amanatullah Khan and the last spot with 4.33% to Congress candidate Ariba Khan.
What we found: At first, we checked Dilli Tak's social media handles to check if such a graphic was published, however, did not find anything.
We also checked Aaj Tak's page to see if they had posted something similar. However, we did not find anything.
Dilli Tak clarifies: We contacted Anuradha Tanwar, the editor of Dilli Tak who confirmed to us that the graphic was fake.
The news outlet also posted on their X account that Dilli Tak had not conducted any such survey. The post called it, "fake."
Recently, a fake graphic of a pre-poll survey with India Today's logo predicting BJP's win in Delhi also went viral on social media platforms. You can read the story here.
Conclusion: A fake opinion poll graphic of the Okhla seat with Dilli Tak's logo went viral to falsely allege AIMIM candidate's lead.
