Viral image is from South Korea.
Even as Maharashtra awaits results of its assembly elections, a glittering image of a bridge over a sea is going viral on social media. It is being claimed that the city is Mumbai, thus implying the development work done by the state government.
Facebook page "Dontgetserious" posted the viral image on October 17, days before the elections were held on Monday. Till the filing of this story, the image was 'liked' by more than 3,300 users.
India Today Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) has found that the viral image is not from Mumbai, but South Korea.
Along with the image, Facebook page "Dontgetserious" claimed, "This is not Los Angeles or London. This is our own Mumbai, the city of dreams." The archived version of the post can be seen here.
To verify the claim attached to the photo, we ran a reverse search and found that the image is from South Korea. According to stock photograph available on "Shutterstock", it is a night shot of the Gwangan Bridge in Busan city of South Korea. The picture is credited to a photographer named Nop Popeye.
Therefore, we can conclude that the viral image is from South Korea and not Mumbai.
