As per the tweet, Priyanka Gandhi made an objectionable statement on the royal bath of the Kumbh Mela. Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral statement in the name of Priyanka Gandhi is fake. Claim Facebook user advocate Sushil Soni posted a screenshot of a post on February 12 claiming: “Priyanka Vadra’s first tweet on Kumbh Mela. @PriyankagaINC: India is a foolish country where the government spends crores on the royal bath of hypocrites, not on people’s drinking water.” View the archived version of the Facebook post here. Investigation Vishvas News started searching for the Twitter handle shown in the viral message by the name of Priyanka Gandhi. We found that there is no Twitter handle named PriyankagaINC. During the investigation, we also came to know that Priyanka Gandhi’s official Twitter handle is @priyankagandhi. It was made in February 2019. It is followed by more than 32 lakh people. Vishvas News reached out to Congress for further investigation. The National Media Coordinator of Congress, Sanjeev Singh, said that the viral post is fake. He told that Priyanka Gandhi’s real Twitter handle is @priyankagandhi. We scanned the profile of the user who shared the viral post and found that the user is a lawyer by profession. He is based out of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
