  • Fact Check: Amul did not lead any campaign on ongoing general elections in India Claim :Ad campaign by Amul on general elections with the tagline “ Vote or don't vote, take the right decision” Fact :The circulated image is fabricated, Amul did not promote this ad campaign on general elections As Indians, when we think about butter and milk, one brand that comes to our mind is Amul. When discussing Amul brand, we can't overlook the mascot girl featured on every product. From cricket to pandemics, Amul promotes the mascot girl with a relevant message. Now-a-day’s an image is in circulation on social media platform with a Hindi Text” “मत दो या मत दो , सही फ़ैसला लो.आपका वोट अमूलya है” When translated, it reads: Vote or don't vote, take the right decision. Your vote is valuable." The text with the sketch of Amul Mascot Girl on the viral image is being widely shared on different social media platforms. Fact Check: After careful observation of the viral image, we found that the claim is false. The image has been fabricated and shared on social media ahead of the general elections. During the search, we found that on May.06.2024 Amul shared the viral image on its official social media handle and mentioned: “We wish to inform you that a fake message featuring the Amul Girl is being shared on WhatsApp and social media. This advertisement has not been created by Amul.” Amul also mentioned "we strongly urge all voters to vote in the ongoing elections and strengthen our democracy” Furthermore, we found Amul promoted 3 campaigns related to ongoing general elections, 2024. All the ads posted can be seen urging the public to go and exercise their franchise. If you observe all these ad campaigns and compare them with the recent viral image, you'll notice that the 'Taste of India' logo is missing. Hence, it is proved that the viral image is false. Amul didn’t promote the ad campaigns on general elections.
