  • FACT CHECK: Does This Image Show A Sign In Australia Saying That Joggers Must Wear Helmets? A photo shared on Facebook allegedly shows a sign at an Australian beach saying that all joggers must wear helmets. Verdict: False This photo is digitally fabricated. It was created by an account that posts satirical images. Fact Check: A campaign is set to launch that would include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders’ in “The Voice,” or their parliament, the Washington Post reported. Australian actor Hugh Jackman has also warned that it was “inevitable” that Australia would become a Republic government in the future, according to BBC. A Facebook image purportedly shows a sign at an Australian beach saying joggers are required to wear helmets. The image shows the alleged sign posted on a beach with law enforcement nearby. “All joggers must wear a helmet,” the sign allegedly reads. The sign shows warnings of trip hazards, slippery surfaces and collisions. The purported sign also says “log your jog online,” including the link “www.logyourjog.gov.au,” an Australian weblink. The picture was photoshopped, however. Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to suggest that joggers in Australia are required to wear helmets. (RELATED: Did Australia See A 63% Drop In Births After The Introduction Of COVID-19 Vaccines) The image was originally created by a Facebook page called Wowser Nation. The original photo includes a disclaimer,”Wowser Nation: Exploring the Australian nanny state through subversive street art.” Their bio also contains a similar disclaimer. “We realized this was a powerful way of drawing attention to an insidious process many people weren’t aware of: that their lives were becoming more and more restricted,” Wowser Nation co-founder Francis Merson told the Guardian regarding his work. Check Your Fact has reached out to Wowser Nation for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.
