  • FACT CHECK: Viral Image Of Donald Trump’s Colorado State Capitol Portrait Has Been Edited A photo shared on X claims to show a portrait of former President Donald Trump in the Colorado State Capitol building. Thinking about the official Trump portrait in the Colorado state capitol pic.twitter.com/ZTnQ5g2CHm — Dr. Doug 🥼💊💉🧪 (@RaptorBreath) August 5, 2024 Verdict: False The image has been edited. The original portrait shows Trump with a much smaller face. Fact Check: Tesla CEO Elon Musk conducted a Monday night interview with Trump, who said that he would flee to Venezuela if he lost the election, according to Newsweek. Trump also alleged that Venezuela sent violent criminals from its jails to the United States in an attempt to lower its own crime rate and claimed that 70 percent of their “bad people” have left the country, the outlet reported. The X post purportedly shows a portrait of Trump with a very round face. In the portrait, Trump is wearing a suit with a red tie and an American flag pin on the coat. “Thinking about the official Trump portrait in the Colorado state capitol,” the caption reads. This image has been edited, however. The original portrait was painted by an artist named Sarah Boardman, according to CPR News, which shows the original. The unedited image can be seen on Boardman’s site as well. Viewing the original shows that the photo has been edited to make Trump’s face appear significantly rounder. The claim was also debunked by Snopes. (RELATED: Did Donald Trump Block A Bill To Increase The Number Of Border Patrol Agents?) Check Your Fact reached out to Boardman and the Colorado State Capitol for comment. This is not the first time misinformation about Trump went viral. Check Your Fact recently debunked an image purporting to show a Trump post saying Kyle Rittenhouse murdered more people than he did.
