She was fluent in English and could type well.
While working together on the book, they fell in love and married. In November 1942, they had a daughter who was fondly named Anita.
Anita was only a few months old when Netaji returned to India and later reportedly died in an aeroplane crash. However, his family in India did not know about his wife and child for a long time. There are a few news reports about Netaji and Emilie on the Internet.
AFWA reached out to Chandra Bose, the grandson of Netaji’s elder brother Sarat Chandra Bose, and a BJP leader in Kolkata. He said, The viral photo is not of Emilie Schenkl and there is no record that Netaji and Savitri Devi ever met. The Bose family takes serious objection to the spread of fake stories about Netaji.
