New Delhi (Vishvas News). Two women can be seen in a picture viral on social media. It is being claimed with the post that Hollywood actress Julia Roberts and her daughter are in the picture and both are very similar in appearance. Vishvas News in its investigation found that the viral claim is false. The woman in the viral picture is not the daughter of Hollywood actress Julia Roberts, but Julia herself. In fact, this picture is created by combining two photographs of Roberts from 1989 and 2013. This photo was created in 2019 by editing it for a special feature article on People.com.

The description accompanying the viral picture read: “Julia Roberts’ daughter turns 16 and she looks just like her mother!”
Vishvas News also found this claim on its fact-checking WhatsApp chatbot (+91 95992 99372) for fact-checking.

Investigation
To begin our investigation, we first searched this image on Google reverse image. We found this photo in an article on people.com. The headline of the news was “Pretty Woman Turns 30: See the Cast With Their Younger Selves”. It was clear that this picture of Julia Roberts has been edited to her with her younger self.
We cropped these two pictures and searched them separately.
We found the picture of Julia Roberts with curly hair on the left on gettyimages.in. According to the description, the picture was taken on April 25, 1989.
We found the picture of Julia Roberts on the right with straight hair on pinterest.com. In this picture she was posing with Jerry Weintraub.
After this, we searched for the daughter of Julia Roberts. We found several photos of her daughter, Hazel Moder. These pictures were very different from the viral picture.
We reached out to well-known entertainment journalist Parag Chhachekar on this. He confirmed that it’s not Julia Roberts’ daughter in the viral picture.
The post was shared by Twitter user Andy Howe. The user has 65 followers.
