Quick Take
Several social media posts claim that Dr Anthony Fauci, Director (NIAID), referred children as ‘test subjects’. We fact-checked and found no evidence in which he referred to children as test subjects. Thus the claim stands False.
The Claim
A Facebook post shows an image of Dr. Anthony Fauci along with a statement ‘I encourage all 5-11 year old test subjects…I mean children…to get vaccinated as quickly as possible,”, claimed to be said by him to MSNBC news.

Fact Check
Did the NIAID director call children test subjects?
It does not seem so. We searched through interviews of Dr Anthony Fauci given to MSNBC news and found no evidence in the claim.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved covid vaccine for children between five to 11 years in October 2021. So, we searched for published interviews of Dr Fauci given to MSNBC after October 2021. As a result, we found two published interviews but could not find any statement that can confirm Dr Fauci called children test subjects.
Also, a tweet shared by MSNBC states ‘Dr. Fauci: Monkeypox should “absolutely” be taken seriously — here’s what you need to know’ does not confirm the claim made.
THIP MEDIA TAKE: No evidence confirms NIAID director, Dr Anthony Fauci called children as test subjects. Hence, the claim is false until proven otherwise.
