  • Fact Check: This video DOESN'T show Rahul Gandhi enjoying Bhojpuri item number during Bharat Jodo Yatra AFWA's probe found that the audio of this video was digitally manipulated. Rahul Gandhi and other Congress party leaders were listening to a Bollywood song performed by Sunidhi Chauhan. Listen to Story India Today Fact Check The audio of this video is manipulated. They were originally enjoying a Bollywood song performed by Sunidhi Chauhan on the occasion of the 100th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jaipur. Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra has been a focal point of misinformation throughout its run. A video that’s been shared widely shows former Congress president Rahul Gandhi sitting alongside Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and enjoying a Bhojpuri concert. The video, supposedly recorded by a crowd member sitting just behind Gandhi and Gehlot shows them and other party leaders listing a Bhojpuri item number that featured inappropriate lyrics. People shared this video with captions like, "Rahul Gandhi with Rajasthan CM refreshing at night after padhayatra in Bharat Jodo campaign." An archived version of such a post can be seen here. AFWA's probe found that the audio of this video was digitally manipulated. Rahul Gandhi and other Congress party leaders were listening to a Bollywood song performed by Sunidhi Chauhan. AFWA Probe Upon searching with keywords to know if Gandhi had attended any musical concerts during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, we came across a New Indian Express report from December 17 that said Sunidhi Chauhan performed in Jaipur's Albert Hall Museum on December 16 to celebrate the completion of 100 days of the Yatra. We also found an invitational tweet made by the official Twitter account of the Bharat Jodo Yatra that confirmed Chauhan’s appearance during this event. So, did Sunidhi perform a Bhojpuri number? A reverse search of the keyframes from the viral video led us to the same clip posted by several people. However, the audio in these videos was different. Here, Chauhan could be heard singing "Right here, Right now", a popular Bollywood song from the 2005 movie "Bluffmaster". ABP News journalist Akhilesh Tiwari also tweeted the video, making it evident the audio of this viral clip was manipulated. We also found vloggers posting videos of the concert where Chauhan performed. One such video recorded by a vlogger from the crowd features the same song around 14 minutes 16 seconds timestamp and other Bollywood numbers as well. Therefore, it is clear that the audio of the viral video was replaced with some other song. Please share it on our at 73 7000 7000 You can also send us an email at factcheck@intoday.com
