Our Probe
We found a video of Modi's Jamnagar rally uploaded to his official YouTube channel. Streamed on May 2, 2024, it showed the PM was wearing a golden turban and a grey jacket.
In the viral video, however, Modi's turban was red and his jacket sky blue. The Jamnagar rally also took place in the daytime. But the viral video showed the evening sky, clearly suggesting that it was from the same rally.
Subsequently, a reverse search of keyframes from the viral video led us to the same clip shared on X on April 30. The post noted that this rally was from Pune, Maharashtra.
The Prime Minister's official YouTube channel featured the video of his address in Pune on April 29, where he could be seen wearing a red turban and a sky-blue jacket, similar to the viral video.
A comparison between this and the viral clip made it clear that it was from Pune. We noticed the same tents and LED projector screens positioned at the exact spots in both.
Rohit Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party MLA from Karjat-Jamkhed also shared another video of this rally, where people can be seen leaving their seats while the PM spoke.
Therefore, it is clear that the viral video is from neither Jamnagar nor Gujarat but from Pune, Maharashtra.
