  • Last Updated on April 29, 2024 by Neelam Singh Quick Take An article on a website claims that Japan has declared an emergency over the explosion of mRNA cancers. We fact checked the article, and found it to be false. The Claim According to an article published on The People Voice, “Japan has declared a national emergency over the explosion of cancer cases across the country caused by the mRNA vaccines.” Fact Check Is it true that Japan has declared an emergency over ‘Explosion of mRNA cancers’? No, the Japanese government has not made any such announcements. We did the fact check and found no source in the original article published by The People’s Voice (TPV). They are referring to a study termed as ‘official’. However, the authors’ affiliations did not include government credentials. Masanori Fukushima, one of the authors, was previously criticised as an “anti-vaccine demagogue” by Japan’s former vaccine chief Taro Kono. We searched the website of the government of Japan, but there was no information on the supposed emergency. A Google search found no credible documents or reporting to support the claim. We also searched the English version of Japan’s Ministry of Health website, which did not mention any such emergency. In fact, our Google search with the keyword ‘explosion of mRNA cancers‘ generated results which acknowledge the potential of mRNA vaccines for cancer therapy. To summarise, The People’s Voice is infamous for consistently publishing misleading claims on their website. We have debunked several claims such as WEF declared that pedophilia must be added to LGBTQAI+, German government admitted there was no Pandemic, WHO asserting authority over member Nations’ sovereignty, and so on. What is mRNA? mRNA, also known as messenger ribonucleic acid, acts like a messenger. It delivers important instructions from our DNA to the ribosomes. These ribosomes function like protein-making factories in our cells. These instructions guide the ribosomes on how to make specific proteins that our body needs. This process is vital for making proteins within our cells. In the case of mRNA vaccines, like the ones developed for COVID-19, scientists use mRNA to provide cells with instructions to produce a harmless piece of the virus’s protein. This protein piece then triggers the immune system to respond, helping our body recognize and fight off the actual virus if we encounter it later. Thus, helps to initiate a secondary immune response. What does Turbo Cancer mean? Turbo cancer is a conspiracy theory in the anti-vaccine community and cancer and immunology experts do not acknowledge turbo cancer as a genuine phenomenon. It suggests that getting COVID-19 vaccines, especially mRNA ones, increases the chances of quickly developing cancer. Some vaccine critics, even a few doctors, spread this idea. However, there’s no backing from cancer studies for turbo cancer. There’s no proof that COVID-19 vaccination causes or makes cancer worse. On WHO website we could not find any guideline which suggests people with cancer should not get COVID-19 vaccine. It has been contra-indicated only for people with a history of severe allergy/anaphylaxis to ingredients present in COVID-19 vaccine or if you have a fever (>38.5°) on the day of vaccination. Therefore, COVID-19 vaccines are safe for people with cancer. Do vaccines cause cancer? No, vaccines do not cause cancer. Rigorous scientific research and numerous studies have consistently demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of vaccines in preventing a wide range of diseases, including cancer. Vaccines function by triggering the body’s immune system to recognize and combat harmful viruses and bacteria. They accomplish this by introducing weakened or inactive forms of pathogens, or fragments of their proteins, which initiate an immune response without causing the actual disease. Despite concerns or rumours suggesting a link between vaccines and cancer, credible scientific evidence refutes such claims. Multiple studies have thoroughly investigated the safety profile of vaccines. None of them found any credible evidence establishing a causal relationship between vaccination and cancer . It’s important to rely on reputable sources of information for accurate guidance on vaccine safety. Vaccination remains one of the most effective public health interventions for preventing diseases and safeguarding individual and community health. What are the safety concerns for vaccines? Safety concerns for vaccines mainly involve rare adverse reactions, such as allergic reactions or temporary discomfort at the injection site. These incidences are closely monitored by healthcare authorities to ensure vaccine safety. Extensive testing and ongoing surveillance are conducted to meet strict safety standards before vaccine approval. Despite rare instances of adverse events, the benefits of vaccination in preventing serious diseases outweigh the risks. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for accurate information about vaccine safety.
