BJP Leader Amit Shah called ‘Modi ki guarantee’ meaningless.

Clipped video of Shah’s remarks on Congress’ poll promises shared out of context.
A video of BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah allegedly saying, ”guarantees are meaningless” has grabbed eyeballs on social media platforms. Multiple users have shared Shah’s comments to target “Modi Ki Guarantee,” a phrase widely used by the BJP leaders assuring that the promises made by the saffron party will be fulfilled on being elected. The BJP’s manifesto for 2024 Lok Sabha Polls was also titled “Modi Ki Guarantee.”
In this context, Shah can be heard in the viral clip saying in Hindi, “That’s why I say that these guarantees are meaningless. They just say it till the elections are concluded, and then forget it.”
Multiple social media users shared the video along with PM Modi’s photo holding the party’s manifesto, and claimed that Shah has exposed “Modi Ki Guarantee.” However, Newschecker found that Shah’s comments on theCongress’ poll promises have been shared out of context.

A keyword search for “Amit Shah,” and “guarantee” on YouTube led us to a video by Business Today, dated May 16, 2024. The video, titled ‘Amit Shah Slams Congress With ‘Chinese Guarantee’ Jibe: Are Election Promises Forgotten?,’ featured a clip from Shah’s interview with ANI’s Smita Prakash.
“While talking about guarantees, you termed the Congress’ guarantees as ‘Chinese guarantees.’ …We were talking about PoK, and you also brought up China into the conversation,” Prakash says.
“No, I said Chinese guarantee on the basis of their durability. These are not true,” Shah responds.
“I was in Telangana recently. The women there are waiting for their ₹ 12,000…the girls for their scooties…These were promised by Rahul Gandhi, this was his guarantee. Now look for Rahul Gandhi…that’s why I say that these guarantees are meaningless. They (Congress leaders) just say it till the elections are concluded, and then forget it,” he further affirms.
We could thus conclude that the video shows Shah accusing the Congress party for not fulfilling their electoral promises.

Detailing Shah’s “Chinese guarantee” remark, an ANI report stated, “Union Home Minister Amit Shah has taken a dig at Congress over its guarantees for people for the Lok Sabha polls, saying he had termed these as ‘Chinese guarantee’ in the context of their durability and that such election promises are forgotten by the party…”
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi recently countered Shah allegations of the party’s “Chinese guarantees.” She said, ” Ask Amit Shah where that ₹15 lakhs and where that 2 crore employment opportunities are. What kind of guarantee was that? Chinese…”
Shah has termed the Congress’ electrical promises as “Chinese guarantees” on multiple occasions. Taking a dig at the Congress during a recent rally in Telangana, the BJP leader said that PM Modi’s guarantees are always fulfilled, while the Congress’ guarantees are ‘Chinese’ guarantees that are never fulfilled.

We could thus conclude that Amit Shah’s remarks on the Congress’ poll promises have been shared out of context to falsely claim that he called “Modi Ki Guarantee” meaningless.
