  • FACT CHECK: Does This Image Show A ‘Build The Wall’ Sign In Martha’s Vineyard? An image shared on Facebook allegedly shows a “Build The Wall” sign on the lawn of a home located in Martha’s Vineyard. Verdict: False The image is digitally altered. A reverse image search generates the original photo, which was included in a 2020 article from Architectural Digest. Fact Check: Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flew two planes carrying illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts Sept. 14, CBS News reported. Texas-based Sheriff Javier Salazar has opened a criminal investigation into DeSantis following the Florida governor’s decision to send the plane of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, CNBC reported. The Facebook post, which has 29,000 likes, shows an image of a home in Martha’s Vineyard with a “Build The Wall” sign displayed on its front lawn. “Now Happening At Martha’s Vineyard,” the image’s text reads. The image is digitally altered. A reverse image search generates the original photo which appears in a 2020 article from Architectural Digest, focusing on a home on the island built in the 1700s that was redesigned with the help of architect Boris Baranovich. The photo features no political symbols or signs. The owners, though not named in the article, are described as a New York-based couple. The photo of the home, which is located “steps from the Atlantic Ocean,” was taken by Pernille Loof, according to the photo’s caption.
