New Delhi (Vishvas News): Following the controversy surrounding podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s objectionable comment on ‘India’s Got Latent’, a video of him crying has gone viral on social media. The video is being falsely claimed to be recorded after the controversy.
Vishvas News, in its investigation, found this claim to be false. This video dates back to 2021, when Ranveer Allahbadia shared an emotional video after his work was interrupted due to Covid.
What is going viral?
Facebook user ‘indiaupdate24hrs’ shared the viral video on February 12, 2025, with the caption, “I feel bad because of that Because my whole work has stopped… aka Ranbir Allahabadi, don’t feel bad because work has stopped But you should feel bad because you eyed the bed of the mother who gave you birth.”

Investigation
A Google Lens search of the viral video’s screenshots revealed that it was uploaded on Ranveer Allahbadia’s YouTube channel on April 7, 2021. The clip in question appears 30 seconds into the video, which was filmed during the Covid period, where Ranveer shared his personal experience with the pandemic.
What is the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy?
An episode of YouTuber and comedian Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’ sparked controversy over an objectionable comment by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. During the show, Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate question about their parents’ intimate moments, leading to widespread criticism. As a result, FIRs were filed against him and the show’s team in multiple states, and the episode was removed after the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued a notice to YouTube.
After the controversy, Allahabadia also apologised with an X post.
For more clarity, we contacted Smita Srivastava, Principal Correspondent for Entertainment at Dainik Jagran, who confirmed that the clip is not recent but from the Covid period. The video released by YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia after the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy is different.
Lastly, we scanned the account of Facebook user Jagdish Prasad who shared the video with the false claim and found that the user has around 2000 followers.
