A photo of the actual billboard that has been shared on Twitter indicates it’s an advertisement for the streaming service, Disney+. Fact Check: Alissa Heinerscheid, Bud Light’s vice president of marketing, has taken a leave of absence following boycotts of the brand, according to The Associated Press. Boycotts began after the beer brand teamed up with transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney for a recent partnership, Vox reported. The Twitter video, viewed over one million times, purports to show a Bud Light billboard that reads, “lol CRYBABIES.” “Bud Light doubles down and TAUNTS their customer base for BOYCOTTING them,” the video’s caption reads. The video of the billboard is presumably a response to Bud Light’s recent partnership with Mulvaney. The claim is false. Check Your Fact found no credible news reports indicating the billboard is authentic. Likewise, Anheuser-Busch, the beer’s parent company, has neither issued a press release nor a statement via its verified social media accounts responding to the claim. In addition, Bud Light has not publicly commented on the claim. The video of the billboard is doctored. The original video of the purported billboard was posted to TikTok on Apr. 21 by user Jamison Lightfoot. Check Your Fact reviewed Lightfoot’s TikTok account and found other doctored videos on his profile. A keyword search reveals Lightfoot’s professional portfolio website, which indicates he’s a graphic designer. Furthermore, an Apr. 21 tweet shows a side-by-side of the doctored Bud Light billboard and the actual billboard, which is an advertisement for the streaming service, Disney+.
