New Delhi (Vishvas News). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections. Following this, a video of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann getting emotional has gone viral on social media. Some users are sharing this video clip and claiming that Mann broke down after Arvind Kejriwal’s defeat in Delhi.
Vishvas News, in its investigation, found the claim to be false. The viral video dates back to July 2024, when a rally was held at Jantar Mantar for Arvind Kejriwal, who was in jail over an alleged liquor scam. During this, Bhagwant Mann got emotional. People are now sharing a clipped part of the original video with a misleading claim.

Facebook user ‘Qaumi Yodha Deep’ (archived link) shared the viral post on February 9, 2025, with the caption, “Crying after Bhagwant Mann Kejriwal’s defeat.”
Investigation
To verify the authenticity of the viral video, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. We found a related report on Dainik Jagran’s official YouTube channel, uploaded on July 31, 2024. The video showed the same visuals of Bhawant Mann crying. According to the information provided with the video, “Arvind Kejriwal has been lodged in Tihar Jail for the last six months in the alleged liquor scam case of Delhi. In his support, a rally was held at Jantar Mantar. On this occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann strongly attacked the Central Government and CM Mann looked quite emotional while speaking.”
We found the video on the official YouTube channel of the Aam Aadmi Party, uploaded on July 30, 2024. The viral video portion can be seen at the 9.27-minute mark in the 15.48-minute video.
The video was shared on Jagbani’s verified X handle on July 31, 2024.

For more clarification, we contacted V K Shukla, a reporter covering Aam Aadmi Party-related news in Dainik Jagran, who confirmed that the viral claim is wrong and that the video is old.
Finally, we scanned the Facebook profile of the user who shared the post and found that the user has over 8000 followers.
