It further suggests that wet socks can help fight infections. The explanation that they provide is that when your feet start to warm up again, the vessel starts to dilate which makes toxins that got stuck in the tissue release into the bloodstream and leave the body. Fact Check What is the blood circulation process? The blood circulation process is important for delivering oxygen and nutrients to various parts of the body while removing waste products. The heart pumps oxygenated blood (oxygen-rich blood) from the lungs to the rest of the body through arteries. The blood reaches organs and tissues, where oxygen and nutrients are exchanged for waste products. Deoxygenated blood (oxygen-poor blood) returns to the heart through veins, then to the lungs for oxygenation, completing the cycle. In simpler terms, your heart acts as a pump, sending oxygen-rich blood through your arteries to supply nutrients to your body’s tissues and organs.
