  • Fact Check: This video of synchronized precision walking is not from Tokyo Olympics We found in our investigation that the claim is false. The video is being shared by various social media users with the claim that this happened at the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics. We found in our investigation that the claim is false. This video is not from Tokyo Olympics. What is this viral post? Facebook user Ashok Kr Sharma shared the video and wrote, “Tokyo Olympics 2021….Wonderful closing ceremony at the #Olympics like each person was digitally programmed….” An archived version of this post can be viewed here. Investigation To check the viral post, we first checked the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics on the Olympics’ Verified YouTube channel. We did not see this scene anywhere. By doing a reverse image search of the screen grab of the viral video, we found the viral video uploaded on the verified YouTube channel of euronews on Nov 15, 2013. The description accompanying the video read, “A group of Japanese students at Nippon Sports Science University performed a synchronized precision walking feat at their university festivities on Thursday (November 14) this year.” We found this video uploaded on tvasahi’s verified youtube channel on Nov 20, 2013 with the same description. We spoke to Jagran’s Sports Correspondent Abhishek Tripathi on this topic. He also confirmed that the viral visuals are not from the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics. We scanned the account of Ashok Kr Sharma, who shared this viral video. He is followed by 4,931 people on Facebook. The user is a resident of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Conclusion: We found in our investigation that the claim is false. This video is not from Tokyo Olympics. - Claim Review : Tokyo Olympic 2021....
