Documents required for a new ration card are Aadhar card, passport size photograph, address proof, income certificate” Fact Check: The claim is false. Telangana government has not called for applications for the issue of new ration cards. When searched using the key words “new ration card Telangana”, we found a few posts and articles which confirm that the claim is a hoax message. A Twitter user shared newspaper clipping with the caption “Telangana government is not giving new ration cards” According to sakshi.com, the Telangana government has no proposal to issue new ration cards in the state. The state civil supplies authorities have clarified that the government is not thinking on these lines. According to V6telugu.com, the posters shared on WhatsApp and other social media groups have no truth. People are advised not to believe the news. Civil supplies minister Gangula Kamalakar expressed anger that such propaganda is confusing people. According to hmtvlive.com, civil supplies minister Gangula Kamalakar clarified that there was no truth in the information about the issuing of new ration cards in Telangana. In a press release issued on August 18, 2023, he stated that there has been no such announcement made by the Telangana government. Hence, the claim that the Telangana government is going to issue new ration cards is false. There is no such proposition as of now.
