New Delhi Vishvas News. A viral post on social media claims that the BCCI has officially postponed the IPL 2020 indefinitely in the wake of the Corona virus epidemic.
Vishvas News investigation revealed the claim is fake. There is no such news till this story is published. The 13th edition of the IPL starts in UAE from 19 September.
Claim
The viral post reads “JUST IN: BCCI officially suspends IPL 2020 indefinitely in light of the #Coronavirus pandemic.” Which translates to “immediately now: BCCI has officially postponed the IPL 2020 indefinitely due to Corona virus epidemic.”

Investigation
We searched this news on the Internet to investigate the post. We did not find any such news.
We also searched the BCCI website , but we could not find any news of suspension of IPL anywhere. We then examined the IPL’s official Twitter handle @IndianPremierLeague. There we did not get any news of the suspension of the season, but a promotional video for the upcoming IPL season.
The BCCI has also retweeted the posted on September 1 at 9:56am.
We then spoke to Dainik Jagran’s sports correspondent Abhishek Tripathi. He called the post a throwback and said, “No such news has come yet. According to a recent information, the 13th edition of the IPL starts in UAE from 19 September and will run till 10 November. However, the BCCI is yet to announce the schedule for this upcoming season.” You can see the latest information about IPL here .
Twitter user Asperto@Rahulkafan has shared the false claim.
The user had created his profile only in August 2020.
