Claim The viral post reads “JUST IN: BCCI officially suspends IPL 2020 indefinitely in light of the #Coronavirus pandemic.” Which translates to “immediately now: BCCI has officially postponed the IPL 2020 indefinitely due to Corona virus epidemic.” The post of Archive Link Yhann can be seen. Investigation We searched this news on the Internet to investigate the post. We did not find any such news. We also searched the BCCI website , but we could not find any news of suspension of IPL anywhere. We then examined the IPL’s official Twitter handle @IndianPremierLeague. There we did not get any news of the suspension of the season, but a promotional video for the upcoming IPL season. The BCCI has also retweeted the posted on September 1 at 9:56am. We then spoke to Dainik Jagran’s sports correspondent Abhishek Tripathi. He called the post a throwback and said, “No such news has come yet. According to a recent information, the 13th edition of the IPL starts in UAE from 19 September and will run till 10 November.
