Fact :A fabricated opinion poll is circulating widely, stating that Manoj Tiwari is expected to lose his seat
With the general elections nearing completion and exit polls to be released soon, a lot of fake information is being shared on different social media platforms. Currently, an image resembling an opinion poll of the ABP News-C Voter survey logo is being circulated on social media. This viral opinion poll shows Delhi Northeast Lok Sabha candidate Manoj Tiwari losing his seat. According to the poll, the NDA is projected to win 90-110 seats, while the INDIA coalition is expected to get 70-90 seats, and others 0-5 seats.
Users from social media shared the screen shot with a caption “मनोज तिवारी तो गयो".
In English, it means “Manoj Tiwari is Gone”.
Fact Check: We found the claim is false, a fabricated screenshot.
During the reverse image search, we found ABP News shared the screenshot on their official social media. In the post, ABP also mentioned: “सोशल मीडिया पर ओपिनियन पोल को लेकर abp न्यूज़ का Fake Screenshot वायरल हो रहा है. ऐसी खबर ABP News पर प्रसारित नहीं की गई है. ऐसी भ्रामक खबरों से सावधान रहें. सही और सटीक जानकारी के लिए हमारे सोशल मीडिया हैंडल को फॉलो करें”.
When translated to English, it means:“A fake screenshot of an opinion poll involving ABP News is going viral on social media. No such news has been broadcast on ABP News. Be cautious of such misleading information. Follow our social media handles for accurate and reliable updates”.
When we searched with the keyword 'ABP Lok Sabha opinion poll on Manoj Tiwari,' we found that on December 26, 2023, ABP News uploaded a video on their YouTube channel. At the 0:09 timestamp, the results for Manoj Tiwari were shown. As per the poll, Tiwari is leading against his opponent.
In the viral opinion poll, the NDA is projected to win 90-110 seats. However, in the original poll, the NDA is projected to win 150-160 seats.
Furthermore, we found a detailed article published by ABP News where it was mentioned that the viral post is fake.
Hence, it is proved that a fabricated opinion poll is being spread online suggesting that Manoj Tiwari is expected to lose his seat in the Lok Sabha elections.
