The video is not from Agra, but from Delhi. It shows a fire that broke out in the Alipur area in Feb 2024. What is the viral post? A Facebook user named Lovekush Gurjar shared the viral post on January 12, 2025 with the caption, “An entire society is gutted in Agra.” Check the archived version of the post here. Investigation We started our investigation by performing a Google Reverse Image search using the video’s keyframes. The search revealed that the video had been shared across several social media platforms in February 2024, with claims linking it to Delhi. A quick keyword search revealed that a massive fire broke out in a paint factory in Alipur, Delhi, on February 15, 2024. As per reports, the factory was located in Dayalpur Market, Alipur. After searching on Google Maps, we found a location in Alipur that closely resembles the scene depicted in the viral video For confirmation, we reached out to Sachin Kumar, the owner of ‘Piyush Confectionery’, located on the same street. He confirmed that this is the video of his street when this incident happened in February 2024. Sachin also shared the latest picture of the place with us. Facebook user Lovekush Gurjar, who shared the viral video with a false claim, has over 5000 followers. Conclusion: A video of a raging fire is going viral on social media, with claims that it is from Agra.
