  • FACT CHECK: Image Claims Adam Schiff Visited Jeffrey Epstein’s Island 78 Times An image shared on Facebook claims “leaked visitor logs” show Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff visited deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s private island 78 times. Verdict: False There is no record in publicly available flight logs of Schiff visiting Epstein’s island over 70 times. The origin of the claim appears to be a satire website. Fact Check: Epstein, who was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges and later found dead from an apparent suicide in jail, was accused of luring underaged girls to his homes in Manhattan, New York, and Palm Beach, Florida, to perform sex acts, according to the indictment. He also allegedly abused underaged girls on his private Caribbean island, Little St. James, the Associated Press reported. The Facebook post attempts to link Schiff to Epstein by claiming “leaked visitor logs” show the congressman visited Little St. James over 70 times. It includes an alleged photo of the two together. (RELATED: Image Claims The FBI Uncovered Over 250 Emails Between Adam Schiff And Jeffrey Epstein) However, Check Your Fact didn’t find any sources to substantiate the post’s claim. A review of publicly available flight logs from Epstein’s private jet uploaded by Gawker and FactCheck.org turned up no mentions of Schiff. His name also doesn’t yield any results in another searchable database of the flight logs. Media outlets have widely reported about prominent figures who were identified in Epstein’s flight records. If “leaked visitor logs” showed that Schiff had traveled to Little St. James 78 times, news outlets almost certainly would have reported on it. The claim appears to originate from an article published by America’s Last Line of Defense, a parody news website that disclaims in the “About Us” section that “everything on this website is fiction.” The satirical article, which is filed under the “Democrats Satirically Offending” category, bears the same headline as the Facebook post. In December 2019, Check Your Fact debunked the image that purportedly shows Schiff posing for a photo with Epstein. Epstein’s head was superimposed over Schiff’s father’s head to create the false impression that Epstein and the congressman took a picture together.
