New Delhi (Vishvas News). Some videos are going viral on social media regarding the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. In one of these videos, a person can be seen giving Azaan in front of a burning warehouse. Some users are sharing this video by linking it to the violence in Sambhal.
Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the viral video linked to Sambhal is from Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. Recently, a fire broke out in a junk warehouse there, which also engulfed a mosque. This video is now being falsely shared, linking it to Sambhal.
What is the viral post?
Instagram user naved_mikrani_offcial posted the video on November 25, 2024, with the caption, “This is not a picture of Gaza but of Sambhal in UP. May Allah protect all our Muslim brothers.”
Investigation
To verify the authenticity of the viral video, we searched its screenshot with the help of Google Lens and found a similar video on a YouTube channel named ‘Husain Ansari’, uploaded on November 22, 2024. The visuals in the video match the location of the viral video. It has been confirmed that the video pertains to the fire incident on Fatima Nagar Sau Phuta Road.
On searching with relevant keywords, the video of this incident can also be seen on the News14 Bhiwandi YouTube channel. The video also shows a location resembling the one in the viral video. The incident was reported as a fire in a junk warehouse in Fatima Nagar, Bhiwandi.
The video of this incident was uploaded on Bhiwandi’s local YouTube channel ‘the_voicenews’ on November 22, 2024.
A video of a man giving ‘Azaan’ can be seen in a video posted on the Instagram account of ‘the_voicenews’ on November 22, 2024. The people seen in the viral video can also be spotted in this footage.
Regarding this, we contacted the_voicenews editor Firoz and shared the viral video with him. He confirmed, “The viral video is of the fire incident in Bhiwandi. A fire broke out in a junk warehouse here. I covered that incident.”
According to the news published on Dainik Jagran’s website on November 26, 2024, violence broke out during a survey at Jama Masjid in Sambhal on November 24, 2024, ordered by the court. Stones were pelted at the police, resulting in the death of four people in that violence. The police have filed a case against 3750 unidentified persons including 37 named suspects.
We scanned the profile of the Instagram user who shared the video claiming it to be from Sambhal. The user seems to be influenced by a particular ideology and has more than 19000 followers.
Conclusion: The video showing a man giving ‘Azaan’ in front of a burning warehouse is from Bhiwandi, Maharashtra and has no connection with Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.
