With rising concerns over security threats, Pakistan politics is boiled up once again after former Prime Minister Imran Khan was hit by bullets in his leg on Thursday during a rally in the Punjab province. Following this alleged attempt of his assassination, outrage from the supporters of Khan has spread over the bordering country. On the other hand, a section of social media is questioning Khan if he is faking his injury while sharing a video of him.
The viral video shows Khan walking inside a hospital corridor while dressed up in a blue apron and surrounded by some men in green uniforms, supposedly doctors of the hospital. Here, the former cricket star is seen walking with ease and chatting with the doctors.
People who shared this 11-second clip questioned the possibility of a man walking on his feet after being hit by multiple bullets just three days ago. The Urdu caption of this post and a voiceover in the background even mocked Imran for showing better acting skills than Bollywood celebrities. An archived version of this post can be seen here.
AFWA's investigation revealed that the viral video is more than a year old and has nothing to do with the recent firing at Khan's rally.

A reverse search with the frames from the viral video led us to a longer version of the same clip. A YouTube channel named Imran Khan Cancer Appeal uploaded this video on August 12, 2021, making it clear that the video is more than a year old.
The description mentioned that this video was to be shot in Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust hospital, which is in Peshawar. Notably, Imran was the prime minister of Pakistan when he visited here for some inaugural purpose.
The official Twitter handle of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust also tweeted this video on August 6, 2021, noting that Khan was the chairman of this institute and he inaugurated some operation theatres during his visit.
Imran Khan himself tweeted photographs of his visit on the same date a caption that read, "Delighted to visit @SKMCH Peshawar today to inaugurate newly completed operating room suite & intensive care unit (ICU). The opening of these state-of-the-art facilities at the hospital marks completion of final phase in commissioning of SKMCH, Peshawar which had opened in 2015."
We also came across a recent photograph of Imran khan in an Indian Express report where he is seen sitting in a wheelchair with bandaged right leg. Reportedly, Reuters took this image at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Lahore, Pakistan.
Thus, it is safe to conclude that a year-old video of Imran was falsely shared as a recent one after bullets hit him at a rally.
