A video showing a youngster lying suddenly in front of a bus to make reels in Hyderabad is going viral on social media. This stunt video has been shared by many on social media platforms. The claim says that the youngster is making a dangerous stunt on a busy road.
The claim reads: “In a bid to make reel, a youngster risked his life by doing dangerous stunt by suddenly laying on road in front of a running bus in Hyderabad. The stunt video is now going viral on Social Media, triggering outrage among netizens.(sic)”

FACT-CHECK
When DigitEye India checked for the viral video closely we found that it was an altered video, morphing the image on a video showing a man just crossing the road. Here, in this video grab, one can see the youngster walking on the road and when bus approches, he turns towards the bus and lies on the road. Any bus driver would immediately slow down the bus or apply brake upon seeing a person in the middle of the road but he proceeds casually. See this from the pictures:
When we checked if there is any post on this incident from the Telanagana police or Transport department, we came across a clarification by MD, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation, VC Sajjanar, on his X Official handle, clarifying that it was a fake video.
Following is the clarification from him in Telugu:
సోషల్ మీడియాలో వైరల్ అవుతోన్న ఈ వీడియో ఫేక్. ఇది పూర్తిగా ఎడిటెడ్ వీడియో. సోషల్ మీడియాలో పాపులర్ కోసం కొందరు ఇలా వీడియోలను ఎడిట్ చేసి వదులుతున్నారు. ఇలాంటి వెకిలిచేష్టలతో ఆర్టీసీ ప్రతిష్టను దిగజార్చే ప్రయత్నం చేయడం మంచి పద్దతి కాదు. లైక్ లు, కామెంట్ల కోసం చేసే ఈ తరహా అనాలోచిత పనులను ఇతరులు అనుకరించే ప్రమాదం పొంచి ఉంది. సరదా కోసం చేసే ఎడిటెడ్ వీడియోలు ఇతరులకు ప్రాణాప్రాయం కూడా కలిగిస్తాయి. ఇలాంటి ఘటనలను #TGSRTC యాజమాన్యం సీరియస్గా తీసుకుంటోంది. బాధ్యులపై చట్టప్రకారం చర్యలు తీసుకోవడం జరుగుతుంది. pic.twitter.com/Eia1GCSxyr

Translated, the caption reads: “This video which is going viral on social media is fake. This is completely edited. To become popular in social media some people edit videos like this and post them. It is not good practise to degrade RTC reputation by doing these kind of silly, foolish stunts. Some people do these foolish stunts to get comments, likes in social media, but there is danger to imitate these stunts by others. These edited videos created for fun can pose risk to others. #TGSRTC management takes these incidents very seriously. Legal action will be taken on people responsible for such stunts.”
With the latest technologies allowing such editing techniques, some people post edited videos on social media. However, many people, unaware of the fact that they are edited videos, may resort to repeat or imitate such stunts to become instantly popular on social media but, in turn, putting their lives in danger.
Hence the claim of a man resorting to the stunt of lying under a bus is false.
