Verdict: False
According to the state’s official election results, Trump lost Nevada in both 2016 and 2020.
Fact Check:
Trump’s attorneys have asked for his classified documents case to be delayed until after the 2024 presidential election, according to Politico. The former Republican President’s attorneys said there is “no reason to have any expedited trial” in a Jul. 10 court filing, CNN reported.
“I think I won [the state of Nevada] the last time. I think I won both times by a lot,” Trump said during his recent interview with the outlet.
The claim is false. According to the state’s official election results, Trump lost Nevada in both 2016 and 2020. Nevada’s 2016 election results indicate former Secretary of State and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton earned 47.92% of the vote, while Trump earned 45.50% of the vote. The results are available via the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office, with 100% of the state’s precincts reported.
Similarly, Nevada’s 2020 election results indicate then-candidate Joe Biden claimed victory over Trump, with Biden earning 50.06% percent of the vote and Trump earning 47.67% of the vote. This data is also available via the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office, with all 17 of the state’s counties having fully reported their vote totals.
Despite the results showing Trump lost the state of Nevada in the 2020 presidential election, the then-Republican incumbent claimed fraud had occurred, according to the Las Vegas Sun. Trump’s claims were dismissed by Nevada judges, however, the outlet reported.

Trump was not the only one who claimed voter fraud took place during the 2020 presidential election. Claims of voter fraud also circulated on social media, including one Facebook post that purported 42,000 people in Nevada voted more than once, 19,000 people didn’t live in the state, and 15,000 votes were cast from a commercial address, among other falsehoods, according to USA Today. The outlet debunked each of the claims.
Despite various claims of voter fraud having been debunked, Trump reiterated that he believed the election was “rigged” in his interview with The Nevada Globe.
“This is a state that is disgraceful. You know, we sued on the basis of …they robbed the vote at a level. We had a lawsuit that was so good and the judge didn’t want to see it. He didn’t even want to see it. We had a lawsuit that was, in my opinion, conclusive,” Trump said.
He also labeled Nevada ballot harvesting as a “disgrace” and claimed Democrats used the COVID-19 pandemic “to cheat.”
