The Claim A message circulating on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, claims that WEF planning to add vaccines to the water supply. Additionally, she goes on to talk about how more people around the world are paying attention to issues related to water. The post has received 8,982 Reposts and 11.6K Likes till we last checked. Furthermore, similar posts have been making rounds on Facebook and Instagram as well. We have attached the screenshot of the post below: Fact Check Is WEF planning to add vaccines to the water supply? No, the World Economic Forum (WEF) is not planning to add vaccines to the water supply. This is a false claim that has been circulating online. The claim appears to have originated from a video clip of a panel discussion at the WEF’s 2022 annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. In the clip, Mariana Mazzucato, an economics professor at University College London, discusses the importance of water equity and compares it to the global vaccination campaign against COVID-19. However, Mazzucato never explicitly mentions adding vaccines to the water supply. She simply says that we need to think about how to vaccinate the world against water insecurity. The video clip has been taken out of context and used to spread misinformation about vaccines. There is no evidence to support the claim that the WEF is planning to add vaccines to the water supply. We have encountered similar unreliable claims about COVID-19 vaccines being added to the water supply before. Earlier, we refuted the claim that New Zealand considering putting COVID-19 vaccines into the water supply.
