A post shared on Instagram alleges Guardiola shook hands with several people sitting in the front row of the stadium and clearly ignored an Israeli representative near the group. The video shows an Israeli flag and yellow circle appearing over the alleged representative. The caption reads, “In yet another viral video, a Man City manager ignores and refuses to shake hands with an Israeli representative.” The claim is inaccurate. The video does not show an Israeli representative, but rather Alan Smith, the former Crystal Palace manager. Sports Bible reported that it was unclear why Guardiola seemed to snub Smith as he shook hands with other senior officials standing by.
