Check the archived post here. Investigation: To investigate this post, we closely analysed the video. There is a high pitch music embedded at the beginning of the video, making the initial words unclear. After listening carefully, we found that Ronaldo says, “Hello, this is for children of Syria, we know that you have been suffering a lot. I am a very famous player but you are the true heroes. Don’t lose your hope. The world is with you. We care about you. I am with you.” The word “Syria” is clearly audible in the video. Notably, there is no mention of Palestine, Hamas, or Israel throughout the video. To find the source of the video, we used Google Lens to search for keyframes from the clip. We found that Ronaldo had uploaded this video to his Instagram account on December 16, 2016, along with the caption “A message of hope to the children affected by the conflict in Syria”. Ronaldo shared the same video on his official Facebook and ‘X‘ (previously Twitter) accounts in 2016. Several news websites reported this news in 2016. To further confirm the claim’s authenticity, we reached out to sports expert and ESPN commentator Syed Hussain. He confirmed that the viral video is indeed from December 2016 and that no recent videos of Ronaldo related to this topic have been reported. This post was shared by a Facebook user named Ibrahim Hassun , who has over 700 followers. Conclusion: Our investigation concludes that the claim is false. The video is from 2016 when Cristiano Ronaldo released it in support of the children of Syria. - Claim Review : A Facebook user named Ibrahim Hassun shared this viral video on October 15, claiming that Ronaldo stands with Palestine. - Claimed By : Facebook user Ibrahim Hassun - Fact Check : False Know the truth!
