| - False Claim: Social Media Influencer’s Dance Video Misattributed to Delhi CM Rekha Gupta
Vishvas News found in its investigation that the claim being made about the viral dance video in the name of Delhi CM Rekha Gupta is false. New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video has been going viral on social media ever since Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rekha Gupta took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi. In the video, a woman can be seen dancing, with claims suggesting that she is Delhi CM Rekha Gupta.
Vishvas News investigated and found the claim to be false. The woman in the viral video is not BJP leader Rekha Gupta but social media influencer Sangeeta Mishra.
What is going viral?
While sharing the viral video on February 20, 2025, a Facebook user wrote in the caption, “How could you make her the Chief Minister of Delhi?.”
Investigation
To find out the truth of the viral claim, we searched on Google using relevant keywords. We did not find any credible news report related to the claim. We also searched Rekha Gupta’s official social media accounts. We did not find any information related to the claim there either.
We furthered our investigation by extracting several key frames from the video and searching them with the help of Google reverse image. We found the viral video on an Instagram account named sangeeta_mishra05. The video was shared on February 17, 2025. Sangeeta is a social media influencer and she keeps sharing such dance videos. There are many other such dance videos on her account.
During the investigation, we also found Sangeeta Mishra’s YouTube channel. She has also shared such dance videos on YouTube.
For more information, we contacted BJP spokesperson Dr Vijay Sonkar Shastri. He has denied the claim.
Finally, we scanned the account of the user who shared the video with the false claim. We found that the user shares posts related to an ideology.
Conclusion: Vishvas News found in its investigation that the claim being made about the viral dance video in the name of Delhi CM Rekha Gupta is false. The female dancer seen in the viral video is not BJP leader Rekha Gupta, but a social media influencer Sangeeta Mishra. The influencer’s video is being shared with a false claim with the intention of spreading propaganda.
