Granderson won his fourth Man of the Year award from the MLB players union for his charitable work and the 2016 Roberto Clemente award for his work with inner city youth, having sponsors give money for his endorsement work to create youth programs and ballparks in cities. "I'm eternally grateful to every team and every city I've had the opportunity to call home," Granderson said. "As I close out this wonderful chapter in my life and step away from my days on the field, I know that my role in this game is only just getting started." In 2,057 MLB games, Granderson had 1,800 hits, 344 home runs, 153 stolen bases, 937 runs batted in and 1,217 runs scored. His 95 triples were the most of any active player.
