| - Detroit Lions center Frank Ragnow missed practice on Wednesday with a fractured throat, teammate Chase Daniel calling it "pretty incredible" that Ragnow played most of Sunday's NFL loss to Green Bay with the injury. NFL Network first reported the injury, saying it occurred in the first quarter of the game. Ragnow played all 68 offensive snaps against the Packers -- although he had to ask starting quarterback Matthew Stafford and backup Daniels to make the line calls because he couldn't speak properly. "It's pretty impressive what he was able to do," Daniel said. "It's pretty incredible when your throat is fractured and you're used to making all the calls." The Detroit Free Press reported that the Lions had consulted three specialists to determine treatment for the injury. A person familiar with the injury said Ragnow's airway is unobstructed and he is able to eat, but he is not supposed to talk or otherwise strain his throat. Ragnow, 24, has played 871 snaps this season, excelling as both a pass and run blocker. Daniel said that Ragnow's inability to talk on Sunday seemed "funny at the time." "It's not funny now because it's a serious injury," Daniel said. "Dude played the rest of the game, and I don't know if he gave up a QB hit. It's impressive. It really is." Ragnow's brother, Jack, however, wasn't going to build up his sibling too much. "Eh I've seen tougher," Jack Ragnow tweeted after news of the injury broke -- although he did add: "#ProBowl Vote Frank Ragnow". bb/rcw
