The women's World Cup races scheduled for Maribor next weekend will be switched to another Slovenian resort, Kranjska Gora, due to a lack of snow, organisers said Friday. Maribor was due to stage a giant slalom and slalom on February 15 and 16. Those events will instead take place at Kranjska Gora on the same dates. Overall World Cup leader Mikaela Shiffrin could return to the circuit for those races following the recent death of her father. The American announced Monday he had passed away unexpectedly at the age of 65. Shiffrin, who skipped last month's stop in Sochi, is not taking part in this week's downhill or super-G at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany after deciding to stay in Colorado. rg/ll/mw/nr
