  • Here are the latest developments in the coronavirus crisis. France marks the first easing of an almost two-month lockdown, with people allowed to leave their homes without filling in a permit. Teachers start to return to primary schools and some shops, including hair salons, reopen. But bars, restaurants, theatres and cinemas will remain closed. Spain also eases its lockdown for people living outside urban hotspots such as Madrid and Barcelona, allowing them to meet friends and family in bars and restaurants that have outdoor spaces. In the Netherlands, schoolchildren start to go back to the classroom, while most shops reopen in Belgium. In Ukraine restaurant and bar terraces, museums, beauty salons, dental clinics, parks and public squares reopen. In Britain, however, the lockdown will largely stay in place until at least June 1. President Vladimir Putin says Russia's "non-working" period to slow the pandemic will end on Tuesday, as the country registers a record increase in new coronavirus infections. He says the construction, agriculture and energy sectors will be restarted first.A lockdown in the capital Moscow remains in place until the end of May, although some industries and construction sites there can begin work on Tuesday. At least 283,978 coronavirus deaths have been recorded since the epidemic surfaced in China late last year, according to an AFP tally at 1900 GMT on Monday based on official sources. There have been more than 4.14 million officially recorded cases in 195 countries and territories across the globe. The United States has recorded most deaths at 79,894. It is followed by Britain (32,065), Italy (30,739), Spain (26,744) and France (26,643). After more than a month without reporting any new cases, Wuhan, the central Chinese city where the outbreak first emerged, reports five new infections, on top of one announced on Sunday. Mainland China has registered no new coronavirus deaths for nearly a month. In a sign that life is gradually returning to normal in the country, Shanghai Disneyland throws open its doors following a three-month shutdown. Museums are already gathering testimony and objects to remember life under the historic lockdown. The Museum of London has launched an appeal for people to donate items that reflect their lives during the outbreak, including face masks and slippers. Zinedine Zidane's players at Real Madrid go back to training for the first time in two months ahead of the planned resumption of La Liga in June. Other Spanish clubs like Barcelona, Sevilla and Villarreal resumed on Friday. burs-kd/jmy/pvh
