At least 2,700 migrants, around 1,000 of them minors, reached Spain's North African enclave Ceuta on Monday, a record for a single day, authorities said. A spokesman for the local prefecture told AFP the migrants had arrived either on foot at low tide or else by swimming from beaches a handful of kilometres (miles) away on the Moroccan side of the border, the first of them arriving in the early hours. mig/fjb/cdw/jj
