| - Here are the latest developments in the coronavirus crisis: The Czech Republic has joined the list of countries closing its borders. The measure applies equally to foreigners wanting to enter and well as Czechs who want to leave, from Monday. Slovakia also closed its borders to all foreigners, except for Poles. France, Belgium and Portugal joined the list of countries closing their schools. All schools, creches and universities closed from Friday in Ireland. Disney will close its giant theme parks in Florida, California and Paris this weekend until the end of March. New York has banned gatherings of more than 500 people, including in Broadway theatres. Venezuela and Bolivia suspend flights to and from Europe for a month. Paraguay ends them until further notice, as does Peru. Argentina suspends for a month flights from the most hard hit countries. Latin America's biggest Airline Latam, slashes its international flights by 30 percent for two months. Since the novel coronavirus first emerged in late December, more than 135,640 cases have been recorded in 122 countries and territories, killing 5,043 people, according to an AFP tally compiled at 1300 GMT on Friday based on official sources. The worst affected countries are mainland China, with 3,176 deaths, Italy, 1,016 deaths, and 514 in Iran, the three countries with the highest death rates. The first confirmed case is recorded in Kenya, also the first in East Africa. The wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tests positive and remains in isolation. Among political figures who have tested positive are Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton, who has entered hospital quarantine. In the sports world Spanish trainer of Arsenal football club, Mikel Arteta, has tested positive and placed in isolation, as is English Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Australian F1 Grand Prix is cancelled. India postpones its cricket championship until at least April 15. The world table tennis body suspends all activities until the end of April. All football in France is suspended for an indefinite period. UEFA postpones all Champions League and Europa League matches scheduled to be played next week. In the United States the National Hockey League halts the season. European stock exchanges strongly rebound, with midday gains of more than five percent after a catastrophic session on Thursday.
