Organisers of a major African business forum attended by business and political leaders announced Wednesday that this year's event in Ivory Coast had been postponed because concern over the coronavirus outbreak. The event, billed by its organisers as the largest annual gathering of the African private sector, had been due to take place in Abidjan next Monday and Tuesday. But it was being postponed to a later date, said the Jeune Afrique media group in a statement sent to AFP because of concern about the virus. Ivory Coast currently has no cases of the virus and only 10 or so have so far been identified across Africa. Speakers who had been scheduled to appear included Ivory Coast's President Alassane Ouattara, Senegal's President Macky Sall, and Nigeria's Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. Government ministers and chief executives from a number of African countries had also been due to attend. pgf/jj/har
