The NFL's Houston Texans shut down their practice facility Thursday after a player tested positive for Covid-19 while the Indianapolis Colts tightened protocols after a staff member tested positive. The Texans placed linebacker Jacob Martin on the Covid-19 reserve list even as contract tracing was started to determine any high-risk contacts with other players and team staffers. "We were informed last night that a Texans player has tested positive for COVID-19," the Texans said in a statement. "In consultation with the NFL and medical experts, we have made the decision to close the facility and conduct all operations virtually today. The player immediately self-isolated and contact tracing has begun." The Colts announced a staffer positive and conducted meetings online but opted to conduct practice as scheduled. "The team is in the process of contact tracing and has entered the NFL's intensive protocol," a Colts statement said. "The individual has self-quarantined and is under the care of team doctors." The Texans are set to visit Jacksonville on Sunday while the Colts entertain the Baltimore Ravens. The NFL Network also reported no new positive tests on the San Francisco 49ers or Green Bay Packers, setting the stage for their Thursday game to be played as scheduled. js/rcw
