Italy's far-right League party of Matteo Salvini is behind in the regional vote in Emilia Romagna where it hoped to score an historic upset and force snap elections, exit polls showed Sunday. The centre-left Democratic Party's Stefano Bonaccini won 48 to 52 percent of the vote against the anti-immigrant League candidate Lucia Borgonzoni's 43 to 47 percent, state television said after polling stations closed at 2200 GMT. cjo/boc
